Usually there’s mixed emotions when a housesit comes to an end. Gratitude for meeting interesting people and for the opportunity to ”try on” another way of living. Joy that we cared well for someone’s most valued treasures: home and furry family. Relief that nothing bad happened under our watch. And, when something bad has happened - and, there’s been a few times!! - sweet relief that we were able to worth through the issue.
Can you imagine our surprise this week when we discovered #romancolumns …on our bedroom wall? 😮 As Matt and Elisa began work to remove layers of paint to reveal this centuries-old #fresco we could have hardly imagined the scene that is being revealed. This balcony view covers the entire wall, spanning both sides of the room’s large window - featuring a gorgeous sunrise scene, exquisite flowers, and two massive pillars.

The thread running through each of these large-scale installations from light artist Olafur Eliasson is a desire for engagement. There’s nothing passive about this experience.
Florence wanderin’ on such a winter’s day.
Florence a naturale, far away from the crowd. 💗
How’s a girl supposed to get a 🏃‍♀️ run in when she cannot NOT stop to take it all in?
2023, I like the ring of it! 🙌
