The ringing in of a new year initially brings mother nature’s more fickle and moody side to the surface, yet even with cold temps and possible snow and rain, it’s hard to deny the beauty of New York City in January.
The city is a bit sleeper; the pace, a gear slower; and the mood, reflective. Best of all for travelers, there are deals to be had in restaurants and hotels all over town.
Here are shots taken January 1 – 8 in the Big Apple.
Striking and haunting, I love this mural on the Lower East Side. And, this extra-large Lower East Side mural always makes me smile.A cold yet beautiful day running along Hudson River Park in January is a treat!Because everyone else in the city is crazy about Soul Cycle, we might as well give it a spin!September 11, memorialized in this lovely mural near the former site of the Twin Towers and new site of Freedom Tower.I just love the lighting of this shot, looking north from Hudson River Park.Shooting a few golf balls at Chelsea Piers.A watery work of art in the Hudson.
